Dogs don´t make good guides!!

More things that we did in Chiloe was visiting a nearby island with more protcted churches (Patrimonio de la Umanidad). It was Sunday so that everybody was resting or attending the morning ¨misa¨. Finally in Dhalcaue, we found a fair to visit. Everybody selling old clothes and bad food. The surprise we got was at the end of the fair when we entered a place I thought was a shed for fishermen. No, it was like a restaurant for villagers where some wifes were cooking for whoever was hungry. It was not for free, but the idea and the place were incredible. We went in and tried the food. For me it was a bit difficult, almost impossible to find vegetarian food. In the end I compromised and ate the vegetables that were cooked with meat.

That very evening we went to Puerto Montt to meet Mauricio, our friend from Hospitality. Just when we thought that this website is not working, we were proved wrong. We met a very nice couple, Mauricio and Claudia that allowed us into their home. A beautiful house just outside Puerto Montt where we stayed 2 days. The second evening we cooked dinner for them (amazingly it tasted good) and talked by the fire. An excellent experience for us.

In Puerto Montt we tried to visit the famous Osorno volcano, located in Petrohue village, but the wheather was against us. It started to rain and our trekk had to be reduced. Anyway I think it was compromised from the beginning as the national park we went in did not have any maps to offer and our guide was a dog called ¨Oso¨ that according to the owners will know the way back in case we get lost. Well, Oso did not lead us on the right way, we got stuck in the valdivian forrest at the basis of the volcano. As it was raining and cold, we´ve decided to go back following our footprints and never trust a dog again.

Now we are waiting for the bus to go to Santiago. We will arrive there in the morning.
