De visita al poeta y tranquilidad
We´ve spent our weekend in Lo Abarca, Carlos´s village. We arrived just in time for the wine fiesta. With traditional music and dancing, chocolate, mapuche jewelery and of course, lots of wine. It´s the famous wine that is later exported to Europe. As I was told later, lots of famous people visited the winery, including Romania´s president last year.
Well, we did taste the good wine and ate the delicious traditional food that Carlos´s mother and aunt prepared for us. In the night we tasted a little more wine with Carlos´s childhood friends. Borja even tried a dance with Cako as the photos prove it.
As for me... more bad luck: as I was a bit dizzy with the drinking on our way home, did not notice one dog aproaching. He bit my leg pretty hard...
On Sunday we went to Isla Negra, the village where Chile´s most famous poet had a house - Pablo Neruda. Now it´s a museum that we tried to visit. We checked the beaches also. Took precious photos and thought about how cool it would be if one of the beach houses there would be ours.
After another siesta of 3 hours and some more traditional food, we came back to Santiago, leaving behind Cachay, Blanca´s dog. Now we are planning to go further north, starting with Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. And with a bit of good luck, by tomorrow we will be sunbathing on the beaches of Copiapo.
